Contributing editor Mike Nessing discusses the power of three in this Dream Jam Setlist
Power trios hold a special place in my heart. There’s just something about a band that can get it done using the bare minimum. It’s the rock n’ roll equivalent of trapeze without a net. One of my favorite power trios ever are The Jam. I know Paul Weller is annoying with his penchant for preachy lyrics with way too many syllables. The undeniable power and drive of THE BAND itself more than make up for it tho’ as far as im concerned.
Never saw ’em, but if i did i’d want it to go down something like this.
