Alternative Press magazine compared PTV’s latest release to a combination of Chiodos and All Time Low. For those unfamiliar with this genre that would be similar to say… Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift.
Pierce The Veil is a charismatic pop band from San Diego California. They were first up on this incredible night in Worcester.
The Palladium a ‘general admission’ venue in a really creepy old crumbling building. I took some time pre show to speak with an amazingly personable security staff member about the ‘rules’ of the night. Seems the Palladium were allowing only 800 people on the floor this time, the rest to be held back by guard. A great idea considering the energy of the show and a safe one to boot. The well corralled floor was manned with about 15 security guards ready to air lift the crowd surfers when they made it up front.
Tonight they got a bonus.
Only two songs off the mark and the guards had the pleasure of ushering a shocked young lady out of the pit…….sans blouse… sans bra actually. As she scurried out the guard caught my eye and whipped me her shirt which I handed off to her as quickly as possible.
How exactly do you lose your shirt in a crowd surf? Obviously you wanted it off and the reason for that?
Vic Fuentes.
The man/boy has the pitch at times of Justin Beibers older hipper brother. The girlies love him and apparently got all willing to show the goods to get his attention. Which really didn’t work too well but makes for one hell of a story.
“Yeah Boy and Dollface”, had Fuentes serenading a girl from the audience (fully clothed btw) for a stanza before ushering her off. It was awkward and rather a waste of time but this band was a sing a long of the highest extreme. They were the safe start to a night that ramped up to explosion with A Day To Remember. Did they suck? No. But they were wise to be first up. It gave the crowd a chance to warm up, which is what a warm up band should do.
The highlight? Well to me anyway, was when A Day To Remembers Jeremy McKinnon showed up to sing on “Caraphernelia”. I wont lie. I screamed. Loudly.. like too loudly. Yeah.
Pierce The Veil warmed things up.. but we werent there for the soft curvy stuff.
