Philanthropy And Intentions by Helen Bach

The Question of philantropy becomes why should rock stars give back? Think of it. Unless its a tax shelter its for more press, or guilt. Maybe one or two have a sense of need to help mankind but Im thinking not too many are saying……hmmmmm Im a bajillionaire, Im gonna adopt a village in Ghana and name it Bonoland.. and. and…

I would hope giving would be with pure intentions. But if not than it should be done with research.


Ok Im not going to harsh the giving mellow but I get a bit sick of seeing Ms.Celeb hugging a dog, a kid, a kid and a dog, a sick dog, a sick kid, a sick plant.. do it without me knowing, now your talking.


Or how about a 10% give back tax.. every gig you do chop 10 off the top for the Rockers Against Anything fund, but have it managed properly.


I am not going to buy your records if you give to PETA, I am not going to buy less records if you give to the NRA (eww Nugent)


Giving is personal. Shut up and do it.. and make it count.
