Not willing to shell out the hundreds if not thousands of dollars to see The Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary dates? Fear not. World Wrestling Entertainment (not lying) has the rights to broadcast the Stones second New Jersey show on December 15th.
The performance titled "One More Shot" will be shown live at 9pm…
There seems to be more bubbling though. Also, independent TV production firm Endemol has partnered with Rolling Stones promoter Dainty Group for the 50th anniversary tour. Endemol UK and Endemol Netherlands are set to co-manage the international digital rights to the tour with Dainty.
"Endemol and Dainty Group are also collaborating on plans that will allow fans unprecedented interaction with the “50 and Counting” tour experience, more details of which will be revealed in due course," the partners said.
"50 and Counting is set to be a phenomenal global celebration of the Rolling Stones and we’ll soon be announcing further plans to make it an interactive experience for fans like no other," said Tim Hincks, president of Endemol Group.
The simple question is will there be more shows than just the two UK and two NJ performances currently confirmed? I know many people who care more about that question than who will be the next US President. I find it perfection that the band has been so dodgy on all the 50th anniversary shananigans. It has added and element of cool that would have been missing if they had decided to roll out all the info in one fell swoop. Give the people what they want and charge them big.
Oh, and in case you were wondering. rocknyc will be at the New Jersey show December 14th. Jealous?
