I realize I am quite obsessed with Morrissey; I admit it–it’s ok. I mean, when I got his face tattooed on my arm I realized this insane action meant I wasn’t right in the head. I’m ok with that. What I find is that my obsession trickles.
Example: my weekly television listing column no longer lists Jimmy Kimmel’s offering—why? ‘Cuz of that whole Duck Dynasty issue when Morrissey was supposed to be on his show. Nice choice, Kimmel chose a fly-by-night cable TV show over a legend. What an asshole.
Stephen Colbert is a comedian who I used to find moderately amusing. His shirt and tie shtick got a bit old, his quasi-intellectual persona a tad annoying, but after his interview with Morrissey with the same old lame vegetarian jokes, I realized he sucks too. Seriously, you couldn’t do better than cliché’?
So I’m not over the moon about this big interview with Paul McCartney, but I will tell you about it just the same. The Colbert Report on Comedy Central will expand from 30 minutes to an hour for an extended interview and performance by Paul McCartney. The last time this was done was for Radiohead. What does that tell you about the Colbert camp? Typical arrogant wanks.
Paul will be on this Wednesday, June 12, from 11:30 PM to 12:30 AM, with re-airings the next day. It is expected that McCartney will perform a song or two from his current tour.
Colbert said ‘I think this McCartney kid’s got something special and I’m gonna put him on the map!’ Why did he say that? Because he is an idiot and he thinks you’ll think that’s funny.
