Parisian bar being sued by the Doors

A bar in Paris is in trouble: The Lezard King, opened by Christophe Maillet in September 2010, has been built as a tribute to Jim Morrison and the Doors, because Christophe is a true hardcore fan, but the remaining members of the Doors are threatening to sue the bar, saying they don’t want to be associated with a drinking establishment. Sure, it could be misleading, it could give the impression that Morrison had an alcohol problem.

Maillet declared to AFP:
‘I have received a letter from the lawyers of The Doors who are giving me 60 days to change the bar's posters, its name, the name of its cocktails and the website, The Doors did not want to be associated with a drinks bar.’
‘I thought I was doing a good thing, burnishing the image of The Doors, I didn't ask permission but I suspected they would immediately refuse if I did.’

Well, he obviously should have asked, since when can anyone use a famous name and do whatever they want with it? He is well aware of it from his declaration, so I wonder what he was thinking when he invested his money into this.

Look at the website, the decor looks very well done, even the cocktails are named after Morrison’s songs,… but the ‘Riders on the Storm’ muzac can become very annoying after a few minutes:
