I have seen Panic! At The Disco three times- met the band once and scared the crap out of Brenden Urie once.  Each time a fabulous encounter  that I was thoroughly impressed with.  Lead singer, Brenden Urie has the most impressive showmanship and at a very young age (the first time I saw them they weren’t even old enough to drink).  A unique style and a fabulous set of pipes, when the dynamic duo of Ryan Ross and Urie ended so did an innovative style that pop music so desperately needed.

The guys split into camps the younger Ross starting up Young Veins only to fail after the first release and Brenden keeping the Panic! name and here we are.  On the heels of the Fall Out Boy return from hiatus is PATD news- they would open for their tour. The bands were soul brothers in the Fueled by Ramen days.  Ya simply couldn’t love one and not the other so this super retro pairing (if you can call 5 years retro) made the girls scream.  A true dream come true.

Panic has released a new tune “Miss Jackson” and its horrible but that’s OK because they have a back catalog to use live and well that time on stage with the old stuff could well inspire them on their (hopefully) next release.  As it stands they’re new album Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! is due out on October 8th.   I have not heard anything more off of the album but I will.

Panic! will be headlining a few stops before the support tour with FOB and a couple radio station sponsored are free.   I will be in attendance at the August 1, gig in Boston.  I predict alot of screaming and intense heat on the bricks of Copley Square but hey- its their first stop and its too close to not attend.
