On The Road: Tour Support

We have made out way from Boston, to NYC, to Philly, to Baltimore, to LA, to Richmond, to NC and to SC, with many stops in between. We are currently on our way down to FLorida as I type, ( thank the lord for portable hot spots!)

No tour is complete with out the proper support to open up or close out the show, depending on the venues circumstances and demographic. We have rocked with
Kosha Dillza- We started tour with 4 consecutive show, ( Ithaca w/ Dylan Owen, NYC, Philly, Bmore) with this very openly Jewish, ( holla) very skilled emcee. He can free style with the best of them,( look for the flow sesh he did over Terminator Dave’s beat boxing in Philly after show, on his soon to be released documentary) This rapper, hwo has toured with Matisyau before, works hard as a mofo for everything he gets. He is well connected, and good at what he does. And we keep seeing Kosha Dillza at every venue we play at.. Oy vey
Dirty Names- These guys are straigh up Rock & Roll. And they ROCK. They got the look, but more importantly they got the sound, they got the jive; forcing you back in time, where real rock was formed. Killer, high energy show; it was wonderful to do a show with they cats. They were just offered June residency at Arlenes Grocery in NYC. Bourbon Street- Baltimore
Habits – Rap duo Jabez and Hawkins, living in Bmore, but rep Richmond and Tampas as well, (which is where they played and will play with the Ninjas). Ever since their first show at 4TheLove DC, they have exponentially stepped up during their live shows, getting smoother and cleaner. The Canal Club – RIchmond
Wax Lips – Glam/Punk rock band out of NC, rocked with us at Soapbox in Wilmington and Cat’s Cradle in Chapel Hill. The onstage energy beaming from their drummer, Xander Farr, combined with the “born to be the leader of a rock band” lead singer, equals a very raw, punk, high energy, good vibes rock show. UNfortuntly, the band is scattered down the coast, so they dont get to play much together. I noticed a difference between the two shows, the spiced up with, extra practice, some confidence, and some special thing that happens when you rock on the stage that Nirvana once played on..
Golden- My main man from Wilmington, has created a new genre of music in my book. He combines his DJs skills and knowledge of computers and sound generation, with his talents of a keyboardist, + his unique singing voice; this is something really fucking special. Watch out for this guy.. SoapBox- Wilmington
Click Clack Boom- Awesome rock band.. wish I had more time to write about them, cuz they are very good. We are rocking with them at SXSW. You havent heard the last from the BOOM. www.myspace.com/clickclackboomband ( NOTE: how many links did i post.. ONE.. CHECK IT)  Cat’s Cradle – CHapel Hill
The Movement- Philly based reggae group. We have rocked with them in Wilmington before, then we brought them up to NYC. For this show, they brought us to the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, for about 400-500 people. It was pretty awesome.
As you can see/hear we have been sharing the stage with a variety of different bands, genres of music, and musicians, some better than others; some more valuable for different reasons. As long as you learned something, then it was valuable. i.e. The Click Clack Boom, gave us a more efficient way to package, label and transport our merchandise, mainly our Tshirts, ( they gave me one of theirs)
Making alot of friends. most musicians are ver cool people, with alot to offer.. if you are paying attention. ON the other hand, some suck, they cant see the big picture, no matter how hard you try and show them. If you are not looking for something, you wont find it. Keep you eyes open, you never know what opportunities are lurking round the corner.
Talk to you soon
