No Fan Clubs by Helen Bach

Ive been dragging on about fan clubs and VIP sales and such for awhile now.

First Bowie selling me a $70.00 website then Fall Out Boy wanting me to renew my membership and they don’t even exist any longer but today… Today I got 2 of THE BEST solicitation for fan club renewals EVER.

I will share them with you cuz otherwise, I wont believe them as true

First Up?

Cobra Starship- Good ol’ Gabe Supporta. Scene boy and happy pill. 1 hit, a few never ending tours and $40 bucks earned me first access to a show that was maxed at 125 people. Pretty cool. I like small clubs packed so tight I have to inhale the Vanilla deodorant being worn by the 15 year old princess screaming in my ear. Good times right there.

So I let the membership lapse. Why not? They aren’t touring we’ve moved on, The Magpie works for her contacts now so meh…

So dig this ACTUAL cut and paste solicitation..

Prep the bottles of sparking grape juice and ready the confetti. For those
of you who haven’t been keeping track, our baby, Cobra Crew is almost a
year old! And with that comes an important (security) announcement (queue
MattBro): Membership Renewals are coming up.
Depending on when you signed up, either through the use of the coupon in
the “Hot Mess” album or if you purchased the Swag Set to gain membership,
chances are that most of you are coming close to the cut-off. But like
always we’ve got you covered and we’ve got options.
Option 1: Swag Set Renewal ($30)
This option will give you the additional year of Cobra fun
(access to Meet & Greet, Early Entry, contests & giveaways, etc.), the
additional year of site access and of course the coveted Cobra Crew gear
(shirt, bandana, laminate, baller status).
Option 2: Site Renewal ($10)
This option, the Recession Package, is for the ones
roughing it like me, already have their Swag Set, or simply want site
access only. Well guess what? This is simply for site access only! Get all
the glitz with a little less of the glam.
Now that you know the options you may be asking yourself “why?” To which I
might reply “because I said so?” or “you’re mom asks why!” but that would
be bossy and childish. The truth is, throughout the last year work has
been done to roll out a totally revamped site that’s more interactive,
more beefy (figuratively veg-heads), and so easy, even a Cobra member
could do it (which they will, I made them sign contracts). We took in a
lot of the feedback that members’ had and I’d like to say we came up with
something everyone can enjoy.
If the teasing of the future weren’t enough, anyone who renews by
September 1st will be placed in a drawing to win a personalized plaque
commemorating the platinum status of “Good Girls Go Bad”. This is the same
plaque that each band member and I have hanging in our living rooms,
hallways, or bathrooms. At the very least you could melt down the bit of
platinum in the plaque and maybe make a grill for one of your front teeth
but I think you’ll want to display it for your friends and family to be
jealous.
So with that said, all kidding aside, Cobra Crew is getting the overhaul,
the support and the content that you guys deserve. The new site is going
to be an ever evolving entity that will rely heavily on your thoughts,
ideas and suggestions to keep it going strong.
It’s been a fun year, a year of learning, and like Major Laser we’re gonna
“keep it going louder” so tell all your friends.

K wait here’s another

This time from the lapsed membership forum of The Academy Is…

Attention All SLH, TAI & TAU Fans!
It’s me, The Butcher. I have some good news.
As of this very moment, I have FIVE original pieces up on Ebay for bid.
They are not just any old pieces. They are the ORIGINAL ballpoint pen
drawings from the FIRST SLH FanClub T-Shirt. All 5 members with their

< div style="text-align:center;">sidekicks, commentary, objectives, the whole deal.

Why? I am attempting to raise funds. My computer crashed, it’s gonna take
quadruple digits of dollars to recover the VITAL information that’s
trapped inside. A very unfortunate situation.
This way, I feel like I can win, and 5 other people can win. So please, if
you have a moment, check out these photos of the pieces. And if you like
those, click the links and get-to-bidding!
(I have omitted the links cuz its so freakin ridiculous)

PS. The bidding ends on July 23.

xoxo

Andy, the Butcher.

Wait there’s more! (these all came over this weekend. Artist Arena staff must be working OT)

How about Panic! At the Disco?

Yeah.. this one is good all they’ve done is break up and record for 3 years..

another cut and paste

Northern Downpour is having a Panic! Pajama Contest. This is Northern
Downpour’s chance to win Brendon or Spencer’s pajamas from the Nine In The
Afternoon video! You have to be an active member to enter though and the
deadline to do so is fast approaching (monday to be exact). Renew your ND
membership now in order to log into Northern Downpour for details on how
to enter.
This is just one of many great contests/ prizes for Northern Downpour.
Renew to come back and be a part of everything. Your ND family misses
you.
See you soon! <3
Northern Downpour
And guess what? I wont renew any of them

Why? Cuz none of them deserve $40+ bucks for a website. When I first signed up the kid for these fan clubs they were viable bands, touring, recording and making a great movement of music.. Now? silence…

Get your lazy pretty boy asses on tour…..and fucking EARN your pay. Considering most of your fans aren’t even old enough to earn a pay check, its pretty pathetic, don’t ya think?

(PS most of them are gonna grow out of you pretty quick..so get cracking.)

The Academy Is…, Panic! At The Disco, Cobra Starship, Fall Out Boy…seriously?
