Don Giovanni Records just posted a new video for Screaming females’ ‘Laura and Marty’, a song which opened their last album.
The song has a slower tempo compared to what I remember from their FYF fest performance last year, but Marissa Paternoster’s howling vocals are certainly as powerful as ever, powerful enough to justify the plural of their moniker even though she is the only girl in the band. The energy is definitely there, with this visceral delivery over a melodious chaos of guitar, bass and drums.
The video follows them on the road in airports, vans and everywhere else, relaxing, playing, eating and rehearsing: actually the band has been touring non stop since the release of ‘Castle Talk’ in 2010, so it’s not a traditional MTV style video, but rather one made with a bunch of Super 8 footage shot, by their friend Eddie Austin during last of winter and spring.
They are still touring, so catch them if you can because no video can really do justice to their live acts.
