I am a very, very big Liz Phair and the news that she had released a new album, Funstyle, absolutely took me by surprise.
So. at $5.99 I immediately sownloaded it and I am, so far, still getting used to it, a bit ambivalent. An experemental “U Hate It” comes with its own put down -is so irrtiating, it is nearly unlistenable but backing it right up
is “Satisfied” and that ain’t bad at all.
Some seem to have a bollywood feel to em, the drums hard and the eastern flow wild distorting behind her sing-song off key vocals.
Problem with Liz isn’t that we will never get “6′ 1″” again it is that we will never get “Perfect World” again.
