People who are demonstrating against Wall Street, may not have gotten that outrageously famous band who played two nights at Roseland, but they got Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Mangum, who actually did a surprise performance in lower Manhattan.
The Wall Street journal is reporting he performed Neutral Milk Hotel favorites like ‘Holland, 1945’, ‘In the Aeroplane Over the Sea’, ‘The King of Carrot Flowers Part 1’, and ‘Oh Comely’, as well as a cover of Minutemen’s ‘Themselves’ and declared after his show:
’Of course I support [Occupy Wall Street]. This is just something small I can do.’
And it is not that ‘small’, most of these people are kids and a thing like this has such a strong impact on their spirit! Mangum is the hero now, where were you Thom York?
