Neil Young Is Musicares Person of The Year

MusiCares provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need. MusiCares' services and resources cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies, and each case is treated with integrity and confidentiality. MusiCares also focuses the resources and attention of the music industry on human service issues that directly impact the health and welfare of the music community

So is the mission statement of Musicares, Inc  As we all have learned musicians tend not to have health insurance, they're basically independent contractors and if you're not a bizzilionaire it could hurt.  We saw the unfortunate situation Matt Leone of Medina Lake incurred when he was brutally assaulted.   A great cause, a great organization providing a vital service.

So who was the biggest asset to the organization this year?  Good Ol' Neil Young.  My my hey hey, from this guy I cant get away.  Musicares will honor Young on May 31st with a Gala event and a DVD/CD release chock full of folk singing his stuff.  Guess who?  Yup Elvis Costello, cuz if there's a mug up opportunity ol' scruffy is there.  Again a great cause and well some interesting participants in the tribute, luckily, nothing sung by Neil Young.
