Naked and Famous: "Young Blood", The 80's Are Back

Not sure who they remind me of is it Roxette?

Whomever it is Naked and Famous are a catapult to the 80's.  From the semi techno pop drum action to the echo squeak of vocalist Alisa Xayalith.

Passive Me, Aggressive You released  on March 15th via Universal/Republic Records and I'm somewhat surprised there isn't a whole lot more indie buzz going on here.

From New Zealand Naked and Famous appear to have all bases covered cute girl a multitude of boys catching lyrics and sing along choruses.

Yet they're buried deep within the pages of 'whats new'

I like them.

The song "Young Blood" is a moody but interesting song with a lame video and after speaking with Iman today I realize that maybe I put too much emphasis on the video aspect.  Again I opted not to watch the entire thing and buy songs end found it to be pleasant background music to the task at hand.  I consider this the intellectuals bubblegum music.  Safe but diverse enough to seem enlightened but really its just top 40 with an accent.

Their website offers another song called "Punching In A Dream" a much more moody sort of song pretty much in the same catagory.  Hard to tell the two songs apart but then again back ground music should be seamless.

There will be alot of fans for this band if this band gets the spotlight I think they deserve.
So here is my shameless plug for them.
Go download either on their site ( thenakedandfamous.com) or you can get 'Young Blood' for free from Fuse.TV

Catch them live at Terminal 5 on May 4 if youre so inclined.
