My Favorite Tracks, February 8th, 2011 -by Iman Lababedi

1. Jejune Stars – Bright Eyes – This song is so good it singlehandedly changed my mind about the album. I can’t express my appreciation of this song in high enough terms, it is Conor’s best song since “Cape Canaveral”. A monster masterpiece of chewy singer-songwritey pop that Jackson Browne coulda stuck on Running On Empty. So good it makes “Why do I hide from the rain?” sound like an existential crises and a self fulfilling prophecy.
2. Price Tag – Jessie J – I underestimated it. This is a glorious piece of lomey hip hopy pop.
3. Silence – McKenzie Eddy – Haunting beaut.
4. Off Our Backs – MEN – Album of the year till Bright Eyes drops.
5. Hang With Me – Robyn
6. Summer’s Gone – The Wrong Words
7. Oh, Howard – Charlene Kaye
8. Something Else – Diamond Rings – I’m working on a post about the guy.
9. Do It Again – Holy Ghost!
10. California – My Michelle
