My Chemical Romance are quirky guys. The disappear they show up, they pull silly stunts, and boom gone.
One of the great pars of their mystique really. Otherwise, just another pop punk band with a good bone structure. Releasing 3 year old material is the new shtick.
Recorded in 2009 the “Conventional Weapons” session are going to be served to you in metered doses. Two songs a month for ten months. Why? Well to keep the dream alive of course. What a better way to sustain hype? I’m all for it, and suddenly I wonder why no one else does this.
The recordings were done in the same time frame as the ‘Danger Days’ LP. That was a love hate for me, and a horrible live show. These guys need to go back to the theatrical ‘Black Parade’ style, it better suited them.
"Beginning in October we will be releasing 2 songs a month for 5 months. 10 songs in total from the Conventional Weapons sessions we did back in 2009. We hope you enjoy these time capsules, and that they may shed a little more light on how and where Danger Days came from," wrote MCR's guitarist, Frank Iero on the band's official site.
"And maybe even where the future of MCR might be heading . . . and now it is finally time to lift the veil on Conventional Weapons." Details will follow of when the dribs and drabs will begin.
