Must See Concert: Pulp At Radio City Music Hall, April 11th, 2012

The only time I've missed Jarvis Cocker in nyc was the last time he was here when they moved him from T5 to Brooklyn. I don't do Brooklyn whenever possible.

Otherwise, I've seen him fronting Pulp (never better than the This Is Hardcore Tour) many times and solo a couple of times. And thought he was never less than superb.

Of all the Britpop bands, Blur and Oasis included, Pulp were the best: they were closer to disco than Britpop anyway, and they were about as political as possible. I mean, when you're calling your breakthrough album Different Class, the chances are you have more on your mind than pencil skirts.

Pulp reformed last year, though no new stuff so far. They spent last year playing festivals across the Pond and are finally reaching the States with a Coachella gig. But before that they get to nyc where they have a night booked at Radio City Music Hall. A must see, of course. The date is April 11th, 2012. Tix go on sale Friday according to Brooklynvegan.
