My first concert of 2012 looks to be Glen Campbell's "The Final Tour" and I couldn't be more pleased. I have yet to see the lengendary country singer in personm though I, not unlike you, know his songs very, very well.
"Rhinestone Cowboy", "By The Time I Get To Phoenix" and "Dreams Of the Everyday Housewife" to name just the first three songs on his "In Concert" album. Not to mention new material from his latest release, Ghost On The Canvas, which made my best of 2011 list
The show will be tinged with sadness. Campbell announced he was sufferring from Alzheimer's disease: a terrible and terminal illness that robs you of you.
But at least we get to say farwell.
Campbell will be at the Town Hall on Saturday January 7th, 2012. Tickets are currently on sale.
