MuckRock Tries To Obtain Beyoncé's Freedom Of Information Act Public Records, And Fails

A year or so ago, we tried to use MuckRock’s services in order to get information from the LAPD about Elliott Smith’s death, but we haven’t been successful. Nada! Nevertheless, the website has been successful in the past, they even got Wu Tang Clan’s Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s FBI file last year!

They recently encountered another failure: co-founder Michael Morisy filed a Freedom of Information Act public records request for ‘a copy of the backing track used during Beyoncé's Inauguration performance, as well as copies of other backing tracks created in preparation for Inauguration events, whether or not they were actually used.’

And the request was just… denied! You probably remember that Beyoncé was accused of lip-synching the national anthem during the president's inauguration, but the whole thing has never been totally clear, and I am pretty sure that some people in denial still believe she was actually singing live,… or singing over a recording,… or not?

Who knows? The truth is important, but in Beyoncé’s world – and she is the queen of this world – we aren’t entitled to know the truth.

Michael Morisy received 36 instrumental tracks from the Marine Corps, but not the backing track with Beyoncé lip-synching, and the reason was:

‘Please note that Ms. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter's vocals/music do not belong to the Marine Corps.’

Sure Beyoncé is out of this world, she was blessed by a series of gods and she is not even mortal, I believe.

And Morisy added that ‘while “the recorded sound of the Marine Band is in the public domain and as such is provided per the FOIA request,” her attorney’s contact information was all that was offered for obtaining the vocal tracks.’ Good luck with that!

Why am I not surprised? Why is she above everything? And why is this FOIA such a joke if we can’t obtain anything?
