Motionless In White Fail To Ease Tensions At Rock And Shock, The Palladium, Worcester, MA, Saturday October 16th, 2010 -by Mary Magpie

Dear Motionless In White,
About tonight’s show….
I was about an inch away from actually liking you, looking into your music, and probably buying an album until I witnessed your live show.
There was a “mosh pit” of real burly looking guys who were obviously there for the very very heavy/scary/older metal bands who were being obnoxious and disrespectful to you during your set.  I understand using a few swear words, being angry and aggravated, because I would be too, but once you took it further than that, it was out of control.
Real metal fans who are there for music and a good time wouldn’t have acted the way those people who were disrespecting you were.  But on the other hand, a band that was proud of themselves and were truly grateful for their fans wouldn’t have acted the way you did either.
The second you told some of the guys to come up on stage in a “try me, I dare you” sort of way, all of them were like “okay, let’s tone it down a bit”.  But noooooo.  One drunk, stupid guy came up against the barricade.  A lot of bands would’ve ignored him, laughed, etc.  But a member of the band came and yelled at him, creating a scene and giving the security guards opportunity to pull you apart.
But wait, it gets worse.
Another member chucks a water bottle at the man, each of the members stick up their middle fingers, and ignorantly say “F— YOU!” to the whole crowd, as if you had forgotten that you had fans there…  Another water bottle’s thrown later, more curse words from the band, and stupid attitudes were there for the rest of the night.
I hope in the future you handle the “haters” better.  Because you might just lose another potential fan.
Sincerely,
The Magpie.
