Morrisey. One name and one big hairdo. But a really cool cat with a great message. I have spent the week in the 80s and what a perfect addition to announce that the Smith has written his memoires.
"I've been through the whole life in many ways and I just wonder if 660 pages are too much for people to bear. And then I sit down and think, well, are six pages too much for people to bear? I really don't know. I'm trimming."
Whats to trim? We can skim pages, hell what seems boring to one could be the highlight of the entire book I'm sure there are tons of hob knobbing stories face it The Smiths were 'it' boys for awhile.
Formed in 1982, The Smiths took Manchester UK by storm. The boys and the girls went wild. The smarter scenesters worshipped them, these guys were original hipsters. I think they may even be one of the first bands called 'indie' but I'm not sure. Signed to Rough Trade records The Smiths took the world by storm with some of the catchiest tunes of all time, From "How Soon Is Now" to the infamous "Meat Is Murder" there was something for everyone.
Morrisey post Smiths has been an advocate for animal rights and down right outspoken on anything that he whims. I admire old punks who stay punk. There are far too many sell outs- its reassuring to see some geezers still fucking things up. Thanks Morrisey.
Book should be out in a year- I'd snag that in a heartbeat.
