More About Record Stores…

I was discussing running a record store with an anwer the other day and she told me that while they did see a great leap in customers, they got royally shafted when it came to the actual product which was in such limited supply they got one copy if any copies at all of the hotter stuff.
And, speaking with Alyson who lives in LA she mentioned the only record store near her stays in business by presenting live shows.
Which figures right into what I’ve been writing for the last coupla weeks.
The only way for indie stores to stay in business is by, among other ideas i’ve proposed, having groups perform live in them.
A Wesley Wolfe or a Todd Emmert should take a list of indie record stores, cold call em, and offer to play an in-store acoustic set to push the product.
The chances are they  will shift some CDs and make some new  friends and supportathe local indie record scene.
