1. Litost – the Ambassadors – Is a Czech word which means a state of feeling miserable and humilaited (I can think of another: Life). It connects insult with revenge and the desire to hit back. And this indie band have written a truly drastic piece of strng laden sadness that more than lives up to it. Grade: B+

2. Hold On – Alabama Shakes – A modern Black crowes without the glam. Grade: B+

3. It All Belongs To me – Monica – A generic, even old fashioned, but perfect any way r&b chick song. Grade: A-

4. There's a Key – M. Ward – Apparently a minor key. Grade: B+

5.Untitled (Love Song) – Counting Crows – This is exactly what you thought it was -and a little better. Grade: B

6.Twin Peaks – Surfer Blood – Indie rockers should maybe up the energy level a touch on a live album. Grade: B

7. The Way – Bruce Springsteen – This should be covered and fast. It would make a huge hit for the rright person. Grade: B+

8. Va-Va-Voom – Bassnectar – Much better than you think -those keyboards running up and back like a computer malfunction mixed with a stalled spaceship is awesome. Grade: A-

9. Jackson – Florence + the machine – Changed my mind about Josh, he is actually really good. grade: A-

10. Sweet Seasons – Carole King – This, like "The Circle Game", captures how time feels as its passing. Grade: A+
