MFT 2-2-12

1. Feel The Sound – Imperial Teen – Never before has a band been so aptly named. In business since the 1990s, they have a spritely power pop sound that exudes youthfulness and high spirits and fervor and this, from their first album in five years, has lost nothing. Eager and able to please, it is just terrific.

2. Gold Rush, Pt 1 – The Asteroid Galaxy Tour – An orchestrated invitation to the dance.

3. Bad Girls – M.I.A. Lives fast, dies young.

4. The A Team – Ed Sheeren – Best song Tuesday night, a homeless woman makes drug money.

5. Show me The Place – Leonard Cohen – It is like a building has fallen and somewhere in the buildings basement Cohen is singing.

6. America, The Beautiful – Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton – Congrats, gives patriotism and country a bad name at the same time.

7. This Is What Makes Us Girls – Lana Del Rey – Lives fast, dies young, but pulls a moody about it.

8. Terrified Eyes – Craig Finn – How detailed: a woman crosses herself every time the bartender buys a round.

9. Property Of Jesus – Sinead O'Connor – I prefer the original, but this is an original concept and very well sung.

10. Rock Island Line – Ringo 2012 – Kicky little number
