1. New York Moves To The Sound Of L.A. – Funeral Party – I love Phillip K. Dick's novel "Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said". Also Sci-fi. Also based in L.A.

2. You Know That I Know – Jack White – I've done nothing but dis White for years but he gets it right here, writing and playing the music to a lost Hank William lyric and channelling a Williams like arrangement that sounds like plagiarism it is so close to Williams but is, in fact, an original.

3 .We Found Love – Rihanna – Should be a hit and should make Calvin Harris a name DJ while Rihanna's at it.

4. The Circle Married the Line – Feist – Indie pop, catchy as hell.

5. Bastard – Tyler, The Creator – The journey begins.

6. I'm Flexin' – T.I. – His pop sensibility isn't back yet but the flow is fine.

7. Working In Tennessee – Merle haggard – catchy bluegrass number with violins a -plenty. His best in years.

8. Under Your Spell – Desire – Infautuation or love? Both.

9. Tallymarks –  Portland Cello Project – Best line? "You can't make Cathedrals out of finger steeples".

10. The Crooked Man – Zenzile – French expressionism only musical.
