1. Get Up And Use Me – Fire Engines – Lo, back in the day, Postcard was the only label that mattered and Scotland ruled the world. And Fire Engines were changing the shape of rock to come with angular, sweet, tough outbursts of energy like this: their greatest moment and a piece of advise for the ages.
2. Hold On – Holy Ghost! – The A-Trak attack, the secondary beat is awesome. Incidentally, off a great album called Infinty + 1.
3. Comfortably Numb – Roger Waters – The best song off a loooong album, this version features the Celtic Cowboy himself killing the chorus.
4. Hey Headmaster – Pet Shop Boys – Off the extended Very album, absolutely gorgeous strangeness. They're like a disco Morrissey.
5. Try A Little Kindness – Glen Campbell – Wait a second, isn't he a Republican or something?
6. Party Machine – Kim – I am officially flipping over this album. I regret not writing about his performance at MSG.
7. In The Evening – Etta James – Her voice is gravelly and, well, bluesy. I'd love to hear her tackle "St. Lpuis Woman"
8. Underground Stream – araabmusik
9. Happiness – Elliott Smith – As always with Smith, there is something soimply off about the song…
10. Just A Song – Girls – Oooooh, folkie plus how is this for deep and meaningless: "Love is just a song". I did not know that.
