Kelly Clarkson is a 29 year old pop star made famous on American Idol. I think it's safe to say she's the most successful of them all, I mean aside from David Archuleta, according to a commentatorer a few weeks ago. Well there's Carrie Underwood she's 'made it big', and Daughtry but he didnt win per se… anyway Clarkson has done quite well.
See she's 'everygirl'. Plain simple soap and water girl who speaks to teenage girls everywhere. An anthem maker for break ups and flunked mid terms- shes everyone girl fraaaaaaaaaaaan.
I have not seen her live- Iman actually has, as she was on this years Jingle Ball Tour. But this is SNL she gets 2 song and a tiny stage- will she win over a new audience? Or will the teens stay up late tonight to catch her act? Extra late actually since the NFL decided to totally wonk out the programming schedule. We're lucky anyone survived Charles Barkley's God awful reading of the teleprompter. This has been by far the worse and least funny night of the season.
Can a cutesy Kelly redeem this train wreck?
No. Donned in a glitter tank and leggings she really tried…"Stronger", is yet another "I Will Survive" type girl anthem. What was more enjoyable was watching the keytarist with the soul patch. What the hell band did he think he was with? This has to be the oddest band on Earth. Kelly- she's just herself.
Iman said she over sang this at Jingle Ball. A better rendition was done tonight. The song isnt stronger enough. He likes her but is bored with her sound.
Or are we just bored with the hell pit SNL has become? Or both?
