MFT 1-4-12

1. Listen Up – Oasis – "I don't mind living on my own' is a good as a call for post-college freedom from 20 something yob brother Gallaghers. The sorry is almost placating here, it seems edged into a tremulous forever present. So I guess it is sad because time took that now away from then.

2. Cry For Home – Van Morrison with Tom Jones – The wonder is how Morrison, such a distinctive singer, can sing with the rough hewn toughness of Jones with such ease. It's a great song song as well.

3.Lonely Woman – Ornette Coleman – All these years later and still sound pretty out there.

4. Answering Bell – Ryan Adam – Sounds like Van Morrison circa Tupelo Honey.

5. Black Treacle – Arctic Monkeys – Best song off the last album, not sure why it didn't break pop,

6.Take Five – Dave Brubek

7. Up Up Up – Given – from the last great album of 2012.

8. Woke Up This Morning (My Baby Was Gone) – BB King – Damn, he sounds young and hot. This is a bit like "Don't get Around Much Anymore")

9.Ni**as In Paris – Jay Z And Kanye West – This works like a novelty song and the novelty wore off fast.

10. It Will All End In Tears – The Drums
