Orion Music + More is Metllica’s own music festival. Talk about big for the britches, this is like a multi day Ozzfest. Remember Ozzfest? Yeah, what ever became of that one?
Set for Atlantic City’s Bader Field June 23-24 Mettalica will play The Black Album from start-to-finish Saturday night and closing with a complete rendering of Ride The Lightning Sunday evening. Well then ya gotta be a die hard fan for that one.
The odd thing about this festival is the other bands taking part. Saturday’s schedule also features Modest Mouse, The Gaslight Anthem and Lucero on the Orion main stage. With other stages tagged “Fuel,” “Damage Inc.” and ‘Frantic,” look for performances by Arctic Monkeys, Cage The Elephant, Fucked Up, The Sword, Suicidal Tendencies and more.
Sunday’s Orion Stage lineup includes Eric Church, Best Coast and Ghost. The other stages are packed with talent as well in the form of performances by such notables as Avenged Sevenfold, Gary Clark Jr., A Place To Bury Strangers, Sepultura and The Black Dahlia Murder.
