What is Metallica thinking? Has the metal band decided to alienate all its fans? When some of them haven’t probably finished digesting their strange collaboration with Lou Reed, they were about to receive another stab in the heart. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you see things, it did not work.
I explain: Drummer Lars Ulrich was hoping for a photo op with Lou Reed and,…teen idol Justin Bieber, but Bieber got stuck at Disneyland after his car broke down and the photo was never done. But Ulrich couldn’t hide his disappointment:
‘Can you imagine that picture? Metallica, Lou Reed and Justin Bieber? We could have put it out that this is our next project. The fans would go f***ng crazy. People already accuse us of betraying metal by working with Lou. Wait till they hear what we can do with Bieber…’
Is he crazy? Lou Reed said in interviews that Metallica fans have threatened to shoot him after their ‘Lulu’ collaboration, and it was Lou Reed. I can’t imagine what Metallica would have planned to do to the Bieber kid!
