Comment: There are too many rules to this talk show game and obody is gonna break em for ay reason whatsoever. All the late night guys are more or less interchangeable. Corden’s big reveal is her brigs the guests on at the same time i the hope of some form of alchemy. So far, so no alchemy. Meanwhile, back in guest of the week mode…. Van Halen were terrific when I saw em at MSG in 2012, where I wrote this: “Van Halen are an immaculate conception: the bastard child of Jimmy Page and Groucho Marx. And they were immaculate on stage, they did no more and no less than every single thing they had to do.” They are back on tour this summer but I ain’t going Jone’s Beach on a Tuesday night so this great expectation at Jimmy Kimmel will have to do.
