Maybe its not high ticket prices after all.
Maybe its cuz you’re a lazy asses would rather sit in your homes and read blogs? YES! Lets hope so.
Actually its sad news that free concerts are actually being cancelled now.
Wednesdays on the Water consisted of weekly summer concerts at the city’s Great Lawn at the Inner Harbor in Syracuse NY.
Basically free shows break even in concession sales.
Seems Great White brought in 7000 but concessions didn’t do so well.
So the promoter seeing nothing more but poor attendance pulled the plug on the last three shows which were Lou Graham of Foreigner, Dicky Betts and Great Southern, and a Local fave Todd Hobin.
Marc Albert of Marc Albert Enterprises stated;
“I was trying to do the right thing by doing free events with a great venue and great atmosphere,” he said. “Obviously, I picked something wrong. What I thought was a promising venture, the attendance and concessions really didn’t pan out.”
I feel so badly. People seriously what is wrong with you? GET OUT OF YOUR HOMES.
We go to concerts in the park for music that makes me want to puke just for the sheer sense of enjoying the world around you. Yeah its not Lady Ga Ga and a Pea, but its breathing air and living life rather than letting the world close up shop around you.
Its up to us, fans of music to support music on more than a streamed in earphoned on your as climate controlled world.
Plus usually you can grab a yummy picnic dinner and that alone is worth having a summer for.
I’m sorry Mr Albert, thank you for trying.
