Madonna is in big trouble but for a good reason! During a concert in Israel, she used a video showing France’s former presidential candidate, and Front National President Marine Le Pen, with a swastika on her forehead! And you could not miss it as the image was shown on a giant screen during the song ‘Nobody Knows Me’.
Faces of Several world personalities were also shown in the video, from Pope Benedict to Sarah Palin, and Le Pen’s portrait was also followed by some rendition of Hitler.
Needless to say that the extreme right leader is not happy about it and is considering suing Madonna if she uses the same video in France when she performs on July 14 in Paris and on August 21 in Nice. Le Pen, with her natural kindness, declared to The Daily Mail:
‘It's understandable when ageing singers who need publicity go to such extremes. Her songs don't work any more’.
She also declared to the French newspaper Le Parisien:
‘By the way, has Madonna given back the children she stole from Africa? Or did she end up buying them?’
So nice! A war has started! Despite her recent attempt to distance the party from extreme-right ideas, I would not consider Le Pen’s ideas too far from those of someone like David Duke in this country.
I really hope that Madonna doesn’t chicken out and uses the video in France, I understand that lawsuits are a pain, but she has to! This xenophobic and racist Front National party is a total disgrace for the country as it even got a shameful 18% of the vote during the last elections! Go Madonna, go kick Le Pen’s ass.
