Madness is one of the most infamous British ska bands. Ska being this interesting blend of tempos and brass. I have always loved the energy ska provides. There is no way to be sad when listening to this genre- literally impossible. But, like a never ending caffeine buzz it can send you over the edge of sanity based on its never ending beat. That being said I find it interesting that Madness opted to re-release their latest album "Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da" as a FOUR DISC SET.
This album was originally eleven tracks and contained three bonus tracks. Now its SEVENTY tracks. Overkill? Disc two contains outtakes and demos, Disc 3 contains live cuts from the House of Fun tour and the fourth Disc is a DVD of that 2011 tour.
Madness indeed if you sit down to consume this entire thing you'll pass out at the end from exhaustion. This band can really give a nod to the MTV generation for it success. Their hits "Our House" and "Baggy Trousers" were a couple videos that were on constant repeat for the music network, when it played music. See MTV had limited videos in its infancy so you would see the same ones over and over each day (and you were happy to do so!), now of course, there are no music videos. Madness has gone on to be in and out of commission for those 30+ years and well- this release is just plain silly.
I'm sure there are some die hard fans interested but – yeah just a bit TOO mad for me.
