Lupe Fiasco has not had a record out since “The Cool”, and that was in 2007. Lucky for the Lupe fans, we have had plenty of time re-listen to his best, explore mixtapes like Enemy of the State: A Love Story, and anxiously wait for LupE.N.D. which was rumored to be his third and FINAL record. However thanks to his lawyer or agent, ( I guess) the fine print on his Atlantic Records contract prevents him from retiring with this agenda. Really?!? Contracts can say that? WTF? Anyway that CD has been postponed indefinitely.
T.G.I.2011 bc his next masterpiece, “Lasers” is due out in March. With a few singles leaking thanks to the world wide web, we have had the opportunity to spread the Fiasco, with “The Show Goes On”, “I’m Beaming”, and “Shining Down,” the latter is a collaboration with Matthew Santos, whom Fiasco teamed up with for the hit “Superstar” off The Cool. And there were a bunch of remixes to that song, so you know it was good.
LASERS, an acronym for “Love Always Shines, Everytime Remember 2 Smile,” hits store March, 8, 2011. What a powerful message Lupe, you undercover hippie you. What else to expect, besides love, hugs, and smiles, from LASERS are Lupe’s witty, purposeful, and very direct raps, over the best of best beats with songs produced by The Neptunes for example. (Not to name drop of anything, hold on, let me pick that one up)
Thanks to Soza Hi-Def it was brought to my attention that “The Show Goes On,” official music video was released via Lupe’s website on X-Mas day of 2010.
Peep it..
