They said it would never happen but on January 12th it will. Scott Weiland is going to frontman the infamous hot mess Velvet Revolver in a benefit show for John O'Brian, who passed away suddenly last week. The House of Blues in West Hollywood California is the venue where Mr. 'Fall To Pieces", will hopefully NOT fall to pieces before a benefit crowd.
VR drummer, …. tweeted, “Doing a special night for John O’Brien who passed away recently. An amazing musician and cool guy. Velvet Revolver will perform with Scott Weiland.” Other big names booked for the benefit show include Adam Levine and James Valentine from Maroon, Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine, Sheryl Crow, Stephen Stills and the Forest Rangers.
This is supposedly a one shot deal. Hopes are that Weiland will return to Stone Temple Pilots and carry on. In light of his recent Christmas tour and album lets not hope he thinks thats good enough. What he needs to do is clean up, eat food and add some pounds, quit falling of the stage and foaming at the mouth and return to the rock and roll world so I can enjoy watching him again. Until then.. eww.
