1. May These Noises Unsettle You In Your Sleep – Pierce The Veil –  This isn't post-hardcore, it is post-art rock. Opens with a Theme Of the Godfather orchestration, it is joined by a bat out of hell vocal, before a rock and roll riffarama takes over. In under two minutes.

2. Fire Escape – Civil Twilight – It sounds like a U2 hit, especially when the lead singer gets into his upper register Grade: A-

3. Ruby Soho – Jimmy Cliff – Sounds like the Clash or is it the Outkasts?  – Grade: A-

4. Cherry Wine – Nas, Amy Winehouse –  Hearing her voice takes you back then takes you apart. But Nas is a little bland – Grade: B+

5. Bedtime – The Moms – Power Pop punk band nails it – Grade: A-

6. Settle Down – No Doubt – Grown up but haven't grown out of it – Grade: B+

7. Bantu – MTMGMK – The Very Best – African pop pop, like Vampire Weekend without the college campus – Grade: B+

8. How They Want Me To Be – Best Coast – So sorry I missed them Tuesday night – Grade: A

9. Before You Lose It – Naama Kates – Solid singer-songwriter moodiness – Grade: B+

10. Country Life – Jeff Brotherhood – From punk blues to rock and roll – Grade: B+
