1. Piano Concerto No 1 In C Minor -Dmitry Shostakovich – How is this for a claim to fame? I started listening to the Russian giant at the recommendation of Glenn Tilbrook, as Glenn attempted to explain that instant access and easy melody were not the be all and end all of music. The piano here is all cascading notes, like a man tumbling down flight after flight of stairs. It is unnerving – Grade: A
2. Capital Radio – The Clash – Joe Strummer's ode to unlicensed radio stations – Grade: A
3. Too Drunk to Fuck – Dead Kennedys – from the name down it is almost too great to be real: verses all surf and turf guitar, chorus three chord speed piunk – Grade: A
4. Everything I Own – Bread – MOR classic, I wanna here Rita Wilson cover – Grade: A
5. Breath Of Life – Flirence + the Machine – A weak stomper – Grade: B
6. Re: Stacks – Bon Iver – Poker chios and life stacks up for him – Grade: B+
7. So Goes Life – The Monkees – Carole King wrote it but it isn't a classic – Grade: B-
8. Walking In The Rain – Rita Wilson – No, it isn't Ronnie, but the soft sell here works perfectly – Grade:A
9. How We Do (Party) – Rita Ora – Jay-Z protegee party song – grade: B+
10.Tony Montana (Feat Drake) – Fuure – Sure, Scarface is a ridiculous cliche but Future makes it pay off and doesn't need Drake's help. Grade: B+
