Listen To Yeah Yeah Yeah's New Song, 'Under the Earth'

The New York Times has a long article about the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, praising their effort at rock ‘n ‘roll revival, in particular thanks to Karen O’s fascinating stage presence and strange David-Bowie-like outfit antics. The band, which has been together for 13 years, has only released 3 albums and 2 EPs, but they are about to put out their 4th album ‘Mosquito’ on April 16th, and The NY Times has another exclusive preview, the song ‘Under the Earth’.

The track is a seductive piece of action, mixing Karen O’s unique sexy-animal vocals emerging from a tunnel of weird echoing synths and groovy bass. It’s a bit funky, dance-y, super catchy and intriguing at the same time. ‘No fun for a night on the town’, she meows while you see her walking around the stage with her long legs. ‘No fun’? She actually sounds more like Iggy Pop than David Bowie at this point. Listen to the song below:
