Nathan Williams has a new track out but it’s not exactly what you expect, and it’s not Wavves either: it’s Sweet Valley, a side project he has done with his own brother Kynan.
‘Total Carnage’, the song off their debut album ‘Stay Calm’, which should be released on August 7 via Fool’s Gold, is a weird number, so repetitive that I first thought there was a problem with the track.
All right, we got it, we have heard about Wavves-Best-Coast’s culture of the endless summer, as this song doesn't seem to end… but I was expecting much more from the King of the Beach! With this overplayed loop all over it, the song may have some surf-fuzzy and of course summery thing going on, but it mostly sounds like one unique and distorted sample of an obscure 60s hit. May be they were kind of drunk when they wrote it.
