‘FIDLAR@fidlarLA

LISTEN! “@SamJamesVelde: Tear it all down and start over:

So why not? I gave it a try, and wow, that was quite something! Everything sounded total raw-power-metal-gods-rock-n-roll-saviors! The four tracks posted on their bandcamp are on fire, some pure nuclear-energy-Napalm-bomb fury, screamed with a hardcore annihilating rage. If these guys don’t destroy everything live, I don’t know who will! Their aggression seems to come from the burning fusion of metal/hard-rock’s thunder and punk hardcore’s assault, and it works! Plus ‘Kick Against The Pricks’,… is it a Samuel Beckett reference?

Obliterations are a new band from Los Angeles, they just formed at the end of last year despite the fact that they all have played in other bands before (Black Mountain, Saviours, Bluebird, Night Horse and Pink Mountaintops), and they are Sam James Velde on vocals, Austin Barber on bass, Stephen McBean on guitar, and Flo Schanze, on drums. According to their bandcamp page, their debut 7’ will be available on July 23rd on Outer Battery.

So I am not sure if they are going to be big in the metal scene or the hardcore scene, or both, but I would not be surprised if they make some serious impressions during one of their first gigs at the Jubilee Festival on June 7th.
