Let The Spotify Wars Begin

Has it only been a week?? I have preached the Gospel According To Spotify since the day I've got and have been shocked by naysayers of any stripes.

Still, what is perfect for a music guy like me, might be less so for people who come to music from a different direction. My co-editor, Helen Bach, prefers Pandora! I was never a great believer in Pandora. I have no use for a softwares opinion as to what I should listen to.  But Helen is too much a chick for the boys own club of record collecting: she wants to hear what she wants to hear and doesn't want to worry about who the hell it is. She wants to use her braincells for other things.

Alyson Camus isn't that keen on it either. Without an IPhone, she wanted to put it on her IPod. Since she can't, she can't transport Spotify which lessens its usefulness.

And "Otis"? The New Hov and Yeezy? Still not available on Spotify. Beatles, Stones, Blink 182 (Blink 182?) are all M.I.A. M.I.A. on the other hand is well represented.

So is Amy Winehouse. I was in Orlando when she died and had like two songs on my IPod on my IPhone. But on my Spotify on My IPhone I had all four albums (the two plus the A/B Sides) plus various live tracks and the Quincy Jones number.

Back to the minus? Syncing offline is a bitch and syncing your ITunes to your Spotify only works on the PC you have your ITunes account on.

Still Spotify has just about killed off ITunes for me. More or less. I listen to Spotify at home, on my work computer, and on my IPhone. That leaves me buying the occasional track (the current Otis" for instant) and otherwise relying on my Spotify for all my needs.

For instance: Alyson wrote about an obscure band, L.A.'s Voxhaul Broadcast. So I went on to Spotify and got it.
