No matter how hard you try at building this youth drama, I will never believe you girl! Lana Del Rey is naked on the cover of the October issue of GQ – and I couldn’t care less of course – but what she reveals in an interview to the magazine is way more 'disturbing'. She says that her parents sent her to Kent school, a strict boarding school in Connecticut, at the age of 14 because…. she was a drunk! I will let her do the talking:
‘I was a big drinker at the time. I would drink every day. I would drink alone. I thought the whole concept was so fucking cool. A great deal of what I wrote on 'Born To Die' is about these wilderness years.'
‘My parents were worried, I was worried. I knew it was a problem when I liked it more than I liked doing anything else. I was like, 'I'm fucked. I am totally fucked,'
‘Like, at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realize the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. It's also a completely different way of living when you know that…a different species of person. It was the worst thing that ever happened to me.’
Wow, simply wow,… An alcoholic at 14? Are you kidding me? This girl doesn’t know what to come up with to get attention. If her parents were worried, they could have locked the alcohol closet, controlled her pocket money, watched her after school,… Unless they were alcoholic too, there were many ways to not let her reach the bottle while doing her homework! But no she was that wild girl, drinking alone, because she had a dark side! She has to continue with the myth, revealing a little more about the romantic mystery she has built little by little.
Next thing she’s gonna say will be about her years as a poor girl living in a trailer park neighborhood,…oh but wait a minute, she already said this! Who does she think she is? Ann Romney?
