What? She had this little to say? I am far from having closely listened to Lana Del Rey’s lyrics, but they didn’t sound like some final testimony. Nevertheless, this is what the singer declared to Vogue magazine, revealing she wasn’t sure she would record another album:
‘I don't think I'll write another record. What would I say? I feel like everything I wanted to say, I've said already.’
According to NME she also said this to the Press Association:
‘Rejection and not getting anywhere changed me. I've gone from wanting to be a world-famous singer to wanting to focus on becoming an active, helpful member of my community who lives their life with dignity and grace.’
Helpful member of her community? What has she decided to become? Mother Theresa? It sounds like it because she says later in the Vogue interview that she has left her wild life behind her:
‘The album is a tribute to living life on the wild side. I'm sort of kidding because I'm not that wild any more… used to drink a lot. Too much. I haven't had a drink for seven years now.’
So Del Rey admirers, I am truly sorry for you, but the songstress will soon join a retreat or some charitable organization, giving up her career. You just have to wonder, all this polemic, all this media uproar were for nothing? Or may be it is another stunt and she is going to reappear under a third pseudonym?
