Thats just a catchy title for the guy who sat in a Czech prison accused of manslaughter and handled it with the grace of a diplomat. A guy who faced the music so to speak in an undemocratic country with no support from his own government. Eventually found innocent and cleared of all charges its a long way out the prison door when you have literally spent months of your life in concrete walls for no reason at all.
I have followed, with disgust, this entire process as he went from metal god to man and now that the dust has cleared there are a many residual scars. Bankrupt from the legal fees and lack of income Blythe isn’t sobbing like a baby but showing once again how bad ass and how strong he really is. I don’t know if many modern day metal singers have balls like Blythe but he sure makes it all seem pretty calm. He is now going to be an author. This articulate screamer is writing it all down for us. An intelligent man who has proven his decorum as a complete contradiction to his onstage persona. I see a great and vivid read in the future.
“While I’ve dreamed of being a published author almost since I began to read, I never imagined my first book would center around such a sad topic. Sometimes though, life unexpectedly provides you a story that needs to be told,” states Blythe. “I believe this one does (for several different reasons, not just for the benefit of myself), so I will tell it with the respect and dignity all involved deserve. This will be a good read, I promise you, and I hope some good comes of it.”
