Lady Gaga is always in the news it seems, and this time it’s not because of her fluctuant weight, but for something she declared about the pope on French airwaves:
‘I think that gay marriage is going to happen. It must, We are not actually equal—humanity—if we are not allowed to freely love one another.’
‘What the Pope thinks of being gay does not matter to the world. It matters to the people who like the Pope and follow the Pope. It is not a reflection of all religious people.’
She also said it was 'the point of view of only one person', the pope,…. and this is where she is totally wrong. Pope Benedict XVI was not speaking on his behalf when he declared on Friday to French bishops that ‘Marriage and the family are institutions that must be promoted and defended from every possible misrepresentation of their true nature, since whatever is injurious to them is injurious to society itself’, … He was truly speaking on behalf of the Catholic religion as a whole, after all he is the leader, the big chief of that sect!
Religions are dogma and so they don’t really evolved, and as much as the good catholic girl inside her would like to make us believe that religious people are tolerant and are willing to accept such differences, it isn't true.
Lady Gaga, if you are a true Catholic, you must follow the pope, if you aren’t following the pope, well, you are not Catholic, there is no other way to put it.
So she should stop calling herself a catholic, and if she wants to follow a religion, she should invent one, she has already enough twitter followers anyway to start one. She could call it the church of the gaga, or something as ridiculous, and leave the sexually repressed senile catholic leaders make endless and pointless statements about their dark age idea of marriage.
