Further to Iman’s post two days ago about the day Elliott Smith died: here is what Rock NYC knows and what Rock NYC has heard rumored.
They were fighting.
Hearsay: Chiba asks Elliott for a ride to an appointment. He refuses saying he’s too tired and thinks he needs to go to the hospital. Chiba blows up at him and for the next 2 hours they fight. Chiba later admits that she said every hurtful thing she could think of and targeted all of Elliott’s vulnerable areas. He says he wants to leave her.
– She locked herself in the bathroom, she heard him scream and when she came out, she saw him standing with his back to her. She pulled the knife out and saw two cuts. Elliott walked away and he collapsed.
Hearsay: She locks herself in the bathroom while Elliott pounds on the door crying, apologizing, and begging her to come out. She is so angry she ignores him.
Hearsay:She also said she was on the phone with her therapist and telling Elliott “I’m on the phone sweetie and I’ll be right out.” She comes out when she hears a high pitched scream and a thud.
Hearsay: OR she picks up a knife and threatens him with it. He defends himself and is eventually stabbed. He walks towards the door and she pulls the knife from his chest. He continues moving.
Hearsay:OR she comes out of the bathroom and sees Elliott with the knife in his chest and she thinks it is a practical joke and he has a fake knife in his chest. He turns around and runs off, she pulls it out she realizes it is real.
– She called 911 at 12:18 pm and they told her to do CPR.
hearsay: We don’t know how long she waited to call. She did wait some time because she claimed that her cell was busy or not working.
hearsay: Also she called her best friend before 911 and said she was scared of being arrested because she’d done something horrible and didn’t know what to do
– An ambulance picked him up and drove him to the hospital. He was in a coma. He is admitted at the hospital at 1:10 pm. Elliott died at 1:36 pm from loss of blood at the hospital in the emergency room after they tried to help him. Once Elliott is at the hospital, the police arrives and questions Chiba. She points out the suicide note. She says he has suffered from depression all of his life, has a history of addiction, alcohol abuse, was engaged in self-mutilation, has a history of suicide attempt, and a history of verbal suicidal ideations and planning. She gives them some pages from Elliott’s journal to support the suicide theory.
Regarding the cleaning of the blood after the stabbing: I only have that quote from Robin, wehrein he claims to have cleaned Smith’s blood at the apartment, but he does not say when they did it. Before the police came? after? We also don’t know if Chiba had blood all over her when the police came. If they were physically fighting she must have had blood on her after the removal of the knife. I have no information on this. I But if there was blood throughout the house as Robin said, the police should have taken pictures, analyzed the spots?? And I don’t watch too much TV!
