Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett is a massive horror fan and to prove that he has compiled a new book. "Too Much Horror Business” is a 228 page, hardback, large format coffee table book featuring well over 300 full color images from Kirk’s private collection and exclusive set photography by Mark Leiloha and Joe Gibbs.
Not surprising (nor stereotype!) for a metal guy to dig horror but it is quite an undertaking to put together a book. I am unclear of its content, be it factual or staged but I am sure that most will just buy in to it for the authors name.
“This is my gift to all the other horror nerds out there who are just like me,” says Kirk. “It’s been made with great love for all the many characters and movies which guided me through childhood, into adulthood and which still keep me on track today.”
"Keep Me On Track'? This leads me to believe that Hammett gets a bit spooked, which is pretty cool. The horror and paranormal industry mean big dollars. Society loves to be scared and we love the discomfort of the unexplained. Horror movies have been a release for those so inclined for decades. The collection of material is a billion dollar industry and Hammett is right on target.
Want to meet him? Buy the book and get in line. He will be signing at three stops in New York City and two stops in California next month.
