Kim Gordon’s Book Tour Is Filled With Special Guests

Kim-Gordon

Kim Gordon

Kim Gordon may be done with Sonic Youth but she is touring nevertheless, touring for a book! May be it is the solution for musicians whose life and career have been suddenly chattered! Kim wrote her memoir, entitled ‘Girl in a Band’, and telling her story as an artist, a wife, a mother and as one of the first women of rock and roll, in the 80’s and 90’s in New York. ‘Girl in a Band examines the route from girl to woman in uncharted territory, music, art career, what partnership means—and what happens when that identity dissolves’. This tour will actually feature musical guests, and a different one for each stop; for example, in North Carolina stop, Kim will be interviewed by Superchunk and Mountain Goats drummer Jon Wurster, in San Francisco, it’s gonna be PortlandiaSleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein whereas we’ll have Aimee Mann in Santa Monica! According to Rolling Stone, it’s gonna be a sort of Q&A and judging by the subject of the book, it may get a bit personal.

There are 11 dates starting February 23rd, and here is the full list,
