Et Justice pour tous. And Justice for all. Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, collectively known as the French electronic music duo Justice, have finally released “Civilization”, the first single off their highly anticipated second album.
I’ve been listening for about a week now and I can’t shake the infectious chorus. The beating of a million drums. The fire of a million guns. The mother of million sons. Civilization. Mix in some Rage Against the Machine, Black Sabbath, and Styx influences along with a funk that only Justice can create and you’ll surely be doing the D.A.N.C.E.
Like “DVNO” from their first album Cross, “Civilization” burrows its way into your inner Parisian rockstar and comes out lights, camera, action! If at first it doesn’t, don’t be discouraged. It took me multiple listens before I fully comprehended what was occurring. Justice is back, and I’ll bet my bottom dollar that they won’t disappoint.
No album release date has been announced, but stay tuned. Cross is about to crumble.
